Job summary

Bainbridge Island Metropolitan Park & Recreation District seeks a Recreation Program Leader to supervise staff and participants, lead class instruction, and ensure safety and readiness of equipment and supplies. You will collaborate with staff and volunteers to plan, implement, and facilitate a variety of recreation programs, classes, workshops or trips.

Applicants must hold CPR, AED and First Aid certifications, pass a background check, and be able to work in varied environments.

Qualifications

• Experience leading staff and students in recreational activities.
• CPR, AED and First Aid certifications current.
• Background check passed as part of employment.
• Knowledge of safety rules and program risk management.
• Ability to manage equipment and lesson materials.

Responsibilities

• Lead participant lessons, provide group direction and safety supervision.
• Plan and facilitate recreation programs, workshops, or trips.
• Set expected conduct to ensure a safe learning environment.
• Coordinate lesson plans and materials with staff and volunteers.
• Monitor first aid and emergency procedures within training scope.
• Supervise staff and participants and maintain equipment in good condition.
