Job summary

Sysco is seeking a warehouse associate to accurately and efficiently select products in the warehouse, preparing them for shipping by stacking in an orderly and stable configuration while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

The role involves operating an electric pallet jack or forklift, handling products up to 100 lbs, and complying with GMP and SQF policies in a cool/cold environment. Long shifts and opportunities for growth within a global foodservice distributor are available.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• 0 - 1 year relevant work experience.
• Frequently lift 10–75 lbs and up to 100 lbs.
• Frequently reach up to 72 inches.
• Constantly bend/twist while operating pallet jack/forklift.
• Work in very extreme temperatures (cooler/freeze).
• Stand 10-12 hours daily.

• Read customer order from label screen and select product.
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place on pallets in proper sequence.
• Attach labels on product.
• Operate electric pallet jack to correct slot location and transport to dock area for staging.
• Handle products with care.
• Report any damage of merchandise, equipment or facility.
• Perform daily equipment checks.
• Assist in cleaning and sign off on daily cleaning area.
• Sign in/out for equipment when used.
• Use basic communication skills to understand work systems and instructions.
• Adhere to GMP/SQF policies and procedures.

JOB SUMMARY:

Under general supervision, the associate will accurately and efficiently select products in the warehouse. Prepare products for shipping by stacking in an orderly and stable configuration, while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Read customer order from label screen and select product by slot and description.
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets in the proper sequence.
• Attach labels on product.
• Properly operate an electric pallet jack (2-pallet length) to proceed to correct slot location, and transport product to dock area for staging.
• Handle products with the necessary care.
• Report any damage of merchandise, equipment or facility to a supervisor.
• Perform daily equipment checks.
• Assist in the clean-up of the facility and sign off on the daily cleaning area that the supervisor may assign.
• Sign in and out for all equipment when used.
• Use basic communication skills to understand work systems, instructions, etc.
• Adhere to all applicable GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), personal hygiene, and SQF (Safe Quality Food) policies and procedures as described in the European Imports - Sysco Food Safety Training Manual.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• 0 - 1 Year relevant work experience.
• Frequently lift product that weighs 10lb - 75lbs and up to 100lbs.
• Frequently reach up to 72 inches.
• Constantly bend and twist while operating an electric pallet jack or forklift, retrieving products from lower shelf areas.
• Work in very extreme temperatures (cooler and/or freezer).
• Work on your feet for 10 - 12 hours daily.

Preferred Requirements

• 1 year experience operating an electric pallet jack or forklift.
• 1 year of warehouse, military, or physically active job experience.
• 1 year Selection Experience.
• 2 years consistent work history preferred.
