Job summary

ScanSource is seeking a Team Lead in outbound operations to manage picking deadlines, review errors with staff, and ensure priority waves are printed, distributed, and executed on time. The role focuses on coaching, performance evaluation, and maintaining a safe, productive work environment.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma with 2+ years in related roles, strong MS Office and SAP/SCALE experience, and the ability to multitask while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years related experience. Bachelor’s degree in related field and leadership training are a plus.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel) and operational systems such as SCALE and SAP.

Responsibilities

• Perform team lead functions, ensuring all picking deadlines and priority cut-off times are met.
• Review daily pick errors with pickers.
• Ensure all waves are printed, distributed, and picked to meet deadlines with a FIFO approach.
• Identify special instructions on pick tickets to comply with salesperson requests.
• Conduct timely research to locate products and prevent backorders.
• Coach and develop direct reports, cross-training for key processes and coverage.
• Evaluate employee performance, address disciplinary issues, and foster a respectful, accountable environment.
• Track productivity, assess staffing, supplies, and equipment needs.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and secure operations at shift end.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job description

Essential Job Duties:

• Perform team lead functions, including ensuring all picking deadlines and priority cut-off times are met.
• Review daily pick errors with pickers.
• Ensure all waves are printed, distributed, and picked to meet deadlines while maintaining a first-in-first-out concept.
• Identify special instructions on pick tickets to comply with salesperson requests.
• Conduct timely research to locate products and prevent backorders.
• Help attract and retain a qualified and motivated workforce, fostering new ideas for improvements.
• Continuously develop direct reports by coaching and grooming them for excellence. Document progress and ensure associates are cross-trained to provide adequate coverage in key processes.
• Assist with evaluating employee performance, handling disciplinary issues, and maintaining an environment of respect and accountability to promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate.
• Track and maintain productivity standards, assessing staff, supplies, and equipment needs.
• Maintain a “Tour Ready” clean and safe work area and secure building/operations at the end of the shift.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Performance Expectations:

• Performance expectations will be met when the above duties are performed with minimal or zero errors and minimal complaints from internal and external customers.

Reporting Relationships:

• Reports to the Outbound Operations Supervisor.
• Interacts with internal management staff, coworkers, customers, corporate office, sales teams, vendors, etc.

Credentials:

• High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years related experience is required. Bachelors’ degree in related field and previous leadership training/development is a plus.

Requirements: (In compliance with ADA)

• Ability to understand basic English.
• Ability to stand, stoop, lift, walk, and perform manual dexterity.
• Ability to be physically in attendance at workstation at designated company office location during normal business hours designated for the position.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds as needed.
• Ability to travel less than 20%.
• Ability to operate related equipment.
