Job summary

BD is seeking a Shipping/Materials Lead in Covington, GA to coordinate outbound loads and manage the shipping operation. The role oversees staffing, clerical duties, and adherence to GDP/SOP while ensuring daily targets and safe working conditions.

The position requires leadership, experience with material handling equipment, and proficiency with ERP systems. You will train staff, maintain attendance, and ensure timely, accurate order processing on a 6:00am–2:30pm shift.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent, with preferably some technical or college education.
• Two to 4 years of experience in the operation of material handling equipment and inventory management is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the handling and processing of outbound loads.
• Organize the manpower in the shipping operation to complete outbound loads.
• Manage the clerical requirements of the area.
• Ensure daily goals and metrics are met.
• Ensure supplies needed are stocked and available.
• Follow Good Documentation Practices (GDP) as outlined in SOP.
• Train associates where required.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
• Adhere to safety and operating procedures to prevent injuries.
