Job summary

Feeding South Florida is seeking an Outbound Order Clerk to ensure the accurate and timely processing of outbound orders in our distribution center. You will manage pick tickets, resolve inventory discrepancies, and assist supervisory staff in verifying orders prior to shipment.

This overnight role supports early morning distribution activities, maintains safety standards, and collaborates with warehouse staff to keep shipments moving smoothly while upholding USDA/OSHA guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of warehouse experience, food bank/food industry experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a freezer/cooler environment.
• Basic Math, Reading, and Writing skills required.
• Basic computer skills required and the ability to learn new software programs when needed.
• Ability to effectively organize and prioritize tasks.
• Capable of following directions and communicating effectively.
• Integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven and self-directed with a demonstrated passion for FSF’s mission and commitment to working.
• Strong analytical skills; basic business intuition and common sense.
• Forklift Certification is preferred and knowledge of Material Handling Equipment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all pick tickets are accurately printed and distributed to warehouse staff in a timely manner.
• Identify, resolve and report inventory discrepancies and system issues to prevent order fulfillment delays.
• Generate and verify that all invoices are properly printed and posted to the order management system.
• Collaborate with the warehouse supervisor to verify order accuracy and completeness before items are loaded for shipment.
• Monitor order status and communicate with warehouse personnel to ensure smooth operations and timely order processing.
• Manage daily shipping dashboard ensuring routes, pallet count and orders are accurate.
• Provide updates in form of reports at end of shift with total volume.
• Maintain food safety standards by USDA, DOH, OSHA, and other regulatory bodies; participate in safety programs and sanitation procedures.
• Follow good warehousing practices at all times, including maintaining clean work areas, adhering to personal hygiene standards, properly storing and handling materials, and reporting sanitation concerns.
• Support all other warehouse functions, including receiving, inventory management, and replenishment as needed.
• Inspect products for quality, expiration dates, and contamination; accurately report and record salvageable and unsalvageable inventory.
• Assist other shifts, departments, and operational areas based on business needs and priorities.
• Clean and organize designated areas in preparation for next shift.
• Report safety hazards and be an ambassador for safety in the workplace.
• Meet productivity and accuracy standards as established by management.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management.

COMPENSATION

$18.00 - $20.00 hourly

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS

• Hours of Operation : Sunday through Friday 8pm-5am. After-hours work is required occasionally throughout the year especially during peak times such as holiday seasons, growing seasons, and disaster response. Frequent after-hours work is required relating to special events.
• Environment: Involves activities in both office and warehouse environments with exposure to the climate and South Florida weather. There are extended periods of sitting, standing, lifting, and bending, listening, talking, and/or visual concentration. The noise in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
• Travel: This position will have minor travel requirements for company events and training.
• OSHA Standards: Lifting requirements are 50 pounds and when lifting loads heavier than 50 pounds, use two or more people to lift the load.
