Central Transport LLC, a nationwide LTL carrier, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee outbound terminal operations in Kansas City. You will lead a team of drivers and dock personnel, coordinate loads, and ensure on-time performance in a dynamic, safety-driven environment.

Ideal candidates bring leadership experience in transportation, deep knowledge of LTL, and a proven ability to hire, coach, and mentor staff.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a team in transportation operations.
• Strong leadership abilities including hiring, coaching and mentoring.
• Thorough understanding of the LTL trucking industry.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee outbound operations for your designated terminal dock area.
• Manage up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to meet production schedules.
• Build loads using independent judgement based on labor and freight availability.
• Ensure proper load of carriers by monitoring cube and trailer weight.
• Provide leadership and accountability to drivers and dock staff.
• Monitor dock production and KPI goals, adjusting as needed.
• Track hours and overtime, ensuring compliance and safety.
• Maintain a safe work environment per DOT/OSHA standards.
• Support company operational model compliance and service excellence.
