Job summary

Pepsi Bottling Ventures in North Carolina is seeking an experienced OTR Driver to safely operate a tractor-trailer between production and distribution facilities across our network. You will be part of a team delivering PepsiCo beverages and our own product lines, contributing to reliable service and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities include pre-trip and post-trip inspections, logging daily activity, and precise trailer positioning at docks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• DOT Class A license required or must obtain.
• Two years tractor-trailer experience required.
• Experience positioning trailers at docks.
• Must pass PBV driving skills test.
• Ability to work shifts longer than 8 hours.
• Must pass a DOT physical per FMCSA guidelines.
• Must obtain CDL permit within required timeline if not currently held.
• Good oral and written communication skills.

OTR Driver Role Overview

To safely and efficiently drive a tractor-trail between production and distribution facilities.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Operates an 80,000 pound tractor and semi-trailer carrying product to pre-determined destinations.


• Conducts pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle will operate safely.


• Positions trailers at docks for loading and unloading product.


• Keeps and maintains a driver’s log book each day.


• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.


• DOT CDL class A License required or must be able to obtain DOT Class A license.


• Two Years tractor – trailer experience required.


• Experience positioning trailer at docks for loading and unloading.


• Able to pass a PBV driving skills test.


• Ability to work shift in excess of 8 hours


• Ability to successfully pass DOT physical under guidelines set forth in Federal Motor Carriers Handbook.


• Must be able to pass a DOT physical prior to first day of employment. (Must be able to obtain a CDL permit by the 15th business day and 45 business days from their date of hire in which to obtain the license, if CDL is not currently held.)


• Average oral and written communication skills.
