Job summary

Pepsi Bottling Ventures (PBV) is seeking a Bulk Driver to execute product and material deliveries to PBV locations and customers. The role requires a Class A CDL, DOT knowledge, and the ability to perform heavy physical work while upholding PBV values.

You will operate a heavy-duty vehicle, interact with customers professionally, and document activity with various systems. Forklift experience and accurate handling of logistics are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Class A CDL required.
• Must pass DOT physical before start; CDL permit process timeline specified.
• 1 year local commercial driving experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service in a distribution environment preferred.
• Basic math, written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to meet PBV driving qualifications and perform heavy physical labor.

Responsibilities

• Delivers products and materials to customers and PBV locations using a heavy truck (>26,000 lb GVWR).
• Interacts with customers in a professional, PBV-aligned manner.
• Operates handheld device to complete sales transactions.
• Assists loading/unloading with forklift, pallet jack, or other equipment.
• Documents logistics using BOL, VCR, and handheld computer.
• Adheres to DOT regulations and company safety guidelines.
• Follows all PBV policies and performs other duties as assigned.

Bulk Driver Role Overview

Executes successful product and material delivery operations to customers and PBV locations.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Delivers product and materials to large format customers by driving and maneuvering a truck having a gross vehicle weight of over 26,000 pounds.
• Interacts with customers in a way that is consistent with PBV ideals and values.
• Operates a hand-held device to accurately complete sales transactions.
• Supports movement, loading, and unloading of product and materials using a wide variety of material handling equipment at highly proficient levels (examples: forklift, pallet jack, switcher, tractor-trailer).
• Operates and works with various support systems, documents, and equipment to document logistics and selling activity including BOL, VCR, and a hand held computer.
• Adheres to all DOT regulations and safety guidelines.
• Follows all company rules and regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Class A CDL.
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical prior to first day of employment. (Must be able to obtain a CDL permit by the 15th business day and 45 business days from their date of hire in which to obtain the license, if CDL is not currently held.)
• One (1) year commercial driving experience in local delivery preferred.
• Excellent customer service in a DSD experience preferred.
• Can perform basic financial calculations, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Good organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize.Ability to perform heavy physical labor for extended periods of time.
• Corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Must be able to successfully complete forklift certification.
• Must be detail-oriented.
• Must be able to meet PBV driving qualifications.
• Must be able to work hours necessary to complete assigned tasks.
