Job summary

Washington University in Saint Louis is seeking a Research Technician II in Otolaryngology to support histology, tissue processing and microscopic analysis. The role involves sectioning FFPE tissues, staining, and applying immunohistochemical techniques as needed, with experience in protein analysis a plus.

The person will assist with studies, record data, prepare reagents, and help maintain laboratory conditions and safety procedures in a busy research setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education.
• No specific certification/professional license required.
• No specific work experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assists with research studies, experiments and assays, including data collection and setup/maintenance of equipment.
• Performs data entry and maintains data files on research.
• Prepares tissue cultures, reagents and probe tests.
• Ensures safety procedures and proper documentation of laboratory conditions.
• Maintains and cleans lab facilities and equipment.
