Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Operations, Quality, Mfg Eng, Planning and Engineering for resolution.
• Support material disposition for failure analysis.
• Represent Quality in Griffin NPI process for readiness.
• Participate in NPI builds to identify design/process improvements.

OTM III – Quality Auditor

3rd Shift

Role Definition:

As a Quality Inspector at Caterpillar Inc., you will investigate defects reported by warranty, interplant AQE, and Customer Service DSN to understand impact and root cause. You will provide defect investigation summaries to communicate root cause, containment inspections/rework, and corrective actions.

Responsibilities:

• Containment of quality events may include but are not limited to the inspection of all in house product
• Documenting the status of all units to include performing rework and repairs for the contained population
• Provide daily communication with Quality Supervisor regarding containment status for assigned defects
• Communicate with Operations, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Planning, and Engineering, when cooperative efforts are required to obtain resolution
• Support material disposition for failure analysis activities
• Represent Quality in Griffin NPI process to include validating quality system readiness
• Participate in NPI build follows to identify potential areas for design and process improvements

Requirements:

• Must have knowledge of inspection and manufacturing processes
• Must have successfully worked in multiple work zones/operations within production
• Must have computer experience including Microsoft suit products
• Candidates must exhibit excellent written and oral and written communication skills

Top Candidates Will Have:

• Knowledge of engine assembly
• Experience with IPV test equipment
• Assembly experience in multiple value streams, multiple commodities

• Ability to read prints to include EC levels and impact

Additional Details:

• This is a 3rd shift role.
• This position is located in Griffin, GA.
• Relocation is not available for this position.

Summary Pay Range:

$21.38 - $27.31
