Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in East Peoria, IL, is seeking a detail‑oriented Quality Inspector to perform inspections at BIQ gates, document defects, contain nonconformances, and verify conformance to engineering specifications.

You will use precision measurement tools, support Stop Capability and problem solving processes, and maintain a safe, compliant work environment. The role requires flexibility across shifts and a strong commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections at BIQ quality gates using approved inspection methods, gauges, and checklists.
• Identify, document, and communicate product defects and nonconformances.
• Contain defective material and prevent it from moving to the next operation or customer.
• Accurately record defect information, inspection results, and defect descriptions in applicable quality systems.
• Support BIQ processes including Stop Capability, Problem Description, Sorting, Feedback, and Problem Solving.
• Use precision measurement equipment and gauges to verify compliance with engineering specifications.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment.

• Positions are East Peoria- Building KK
• There is no relocation offered for these positions
• This position is subject to a 90-day probationary period during which the employee must successfully pass the 4Q61 test. Employees who successfully complete the test within the probationary period will be classified as a 4Q61. Failure to pass the test within the 90-day probationary period will result in termination of employment

Salary Range

Salary Range- $26.66- $28.50
