Job summary

Southern Company seeks a Generation OT Network Engineer to design, implement, and support secure OT networks across generation facilities, including SCADA/DCS, historians, and vendor systems. This role emphasizes reliability, cybersecurity controls, and adherence to NERC CIP requirements.

You will collaborate with plant personnel, project teams, cybersecurity groups, engineering firms, OEMs, and vendors, with on-site presence a minimum of four days per week and travel up to 25% as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred; related experience may be considered.
• 3–5 years of network engineering/administration experience with switches, routers, and firewalls.
• Experience in OT, industrial control, SCADA, utility, or critical-infrastructure environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design standardized OT network architectures for control systems, SCADA, DCS, historians, relays, and vendor systems.
• Engineer routing, switching, segmentation, firewalls, redundancy, secure remote access, and data flows.
• Configure, install, test, and commission switches, routers, firewalls, and related equipment at generation sites.
