Job summary

Southern Company Services is seeking a Generation OT Network Engineer to design, implement and support secure OT network infrastructure across generation facilities. You will work on control systems, SCADA, DCS, and vendor interfaces while ensuring reliable connectivity for plant operations.

You will configure and troubleshoot Cisco routing/switching platforms and enterprise/industrial firewalls, support testing and outages, and document changes per project plans.

Qualifications

• Design OT network architectures for control systems, SCADA, DCS, historians and vendor systems.
• 3–5 years of network engineering/administration experience in OT or utility environments.
• Experience with industrial networks, security, and vendor coordination.
• Preferred certifications in Cisco/Palo Alto or cybersecurity.

Responsibilities

• Design standardized OT network architectures for control systems and vendor systems.
• Engineer routing, switching, segmentation, firewalls, redundancy, and secure remote access.
• Configure, install, test, and commission switches/routers/firewalls at generation sites.
• Support testing, outages, and equipment replacements; document changes.
• Troubleshoot outages using packet analysis and protocol inspection.
• Apply cybersecurity requirements and NERC CIP controls to OT networks.
