Job summary

Pine Rest in Grand Rapids, MI, seeks an Occupational Therapy Intern to participate in evaluations, treatments, and group sessions under the supervision of a licensed OT. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to assess needs, develop individualized plans, and support patients’ daily living and social skills.

Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited OT master’s or doctoral program and eligible for NBCOT soon.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in accredited masters or doctoral OT program leading to NBCOT exam eligibility.
• Exposure to psychiatric/medical/clinical settings is helpful but not required.
• Knowledge of DBT, psychoeducational interventions, expressive arts and occupational therapies.

Responsibilities

• Completes evaluations and treatments under supervision of an OT.
• Assesses patient needs and develops treatment plans with an interdisciplinary team.
• Plans milieu and psychoeducational programming and group activities.
• Establishes therapeutic relationships with patients and participates in team discussions.
• Monitors patient safety and reports risks to management.
