Job summary

TAR builds fully islanded, behind-the-meter microgrids powering AI data centers in West Texas. As OT Engineer, you design and configure the OT network and SCADA to spec, integrate all equipment, and verify the system end-to-end before loading data center loads.

You will lead tests, validation, and commissioning, ensuring fast, reliable island transitions and scalable fleet growth across sites.

Qualifications

• BSEE or related STEM discipline.
• 2+ years in industrial or utility controls with SCADA ownership.
• Experience with microgrid controllers, EMS/DERMS or automation platforms.
• Protocol fluency: Modbus, IEC 61850, DNP3, OPC UA.
• Strong understanding of industrial networking and time synchronization.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement OT communications strategy with hardened Ethernet and fiber.
• Engineer latency budgets and multi-vendor integration; ensure fast island transitions.
• Own protocol integration across PV inverters, BESS, gensets, and BMS/DCIM.
• Deliver real-time telemetry, historical data, and fleet visibility.
• Commission and hand over the plant with baselines and spares; lead workstreams.
