Job summary

TEKsystems seeks a mid‑level server administrator with a background in manufacturing processes. The role focuses on Windows, virtualization, backups, and related IT operations. The position is a contract, fully onsite in Robinson, IL.

You will manage platforms and networks, ensure OT systems meet standards, administer Windows Server, AD, DNS/DHCP, and SCCM/PowerShell automation, and work with DCS/SCADA environments. Strong problem solving and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Mid level server administrator with manufacturing process experience.
• Experience with Windows Server OS, AD, DNS, DHCP, IIS and PowerShell.
• Strong automation and virtualization experience.
• Familiarity with OT environments incl. DCS/SCADA.
• Able to communicate technical information to non‑technical staff.

Responsibilities

• Platform management for server, compute, storage and networking.
• Ensure OT systems comply with standards and policies.
• Server/virtualization administration using VMware/Hyper‑V.
• Windows Server administration including AD, GPO, PowerShell, DHCP, DNS, IIS.
• SCCM automation and scripting; network device configuration.
• OT/IT coordination and documentation of compliance.

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities & Qualifications

• Platform Management: strong understanding of platform management tools for server administration, compute, storage, and networking.
• Knowledge of OT's critical role in maintaining operational continuity.
• Compliance: ensure OT systems comply with applicable standards and frameworks; interpret corporate security, risk, and compliance policies; maintain compliance documentation.
• Server and Virtualization: extensive experience managing physical and virtual servers using VMware and Hyper‑V; resource allocation, performance tuning, capacity planning, scalable infrastructure deployment.
• Windows Server Administration: in-depth knowledge of Windows Server OS installation, configuration, management; Active Directory, Group Policy, PowerShell, DHCP, DNS, IIS, file/print services; patch management, firewall configuration, access control.
• Strong automation, SCCM, PowerShell scripting background.
• Network Management: experience configuring and managing switches, routers, firewalls; VPNs, network segmentation, intrusion detection/prevention systems.
• Operational Technology (OT): preferred experience in OT environments, including DCS and SCADA.
• IT Domain Experience: proficiency in AD, Group Policy, PowerShell, Windows Server administration for users, permissions, configurations.
• Virtualization Expertise: hands‑on experience with VMware or Hyper‑V for deploying, managing, optimizing virtual environments.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, knowledge of systems architecture, and ability to communicate technical information to non‑technical staff.
• Experience Level: Intermediate.

Employment Details

Job Type & Location: Contract position based out of Robinson, IL. Fully onsite.

Pay: $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
