Job summary

CPG Talent Management LLC seeks an OT Application Engineer to join our Operational Technology team at a state‑of‑the‑art production facility in Glendale, AZ. This hands‑on role bridges IT and OT, building solutions across PLC, SCADA, and MES to drive digital transformation and deliver actionable production metrics.

You will own configuration, documentation, and delivery of OT systems, contribute to MES implementation, and collaborate with IT, cybersecurity, analytics, and project teams to ensure

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, or related field with industry‑accepted certifications.
• 3–7+ years of work experience in automation, controls, or IT within a manufacturing environment.
• Hands‑on experience with PLC (Rockwell), SCADA (Ignition, FactoryTalk), and/or MES systems.
• Working knowledge of software tools such as Python, SQL, Java, or HTML/XML.
• Exposure to DevOps practices or object‑oriented development is a strong plus.
• Comfort managing your own tasks and keeping clear, organized project documentation.

Responsibilities

• Support digital transformation initiatives by integrating production data and building metrics, KPIs, and dashboards
• Contribute hands‑on to an upcoming MES implementation
• Build OT systems in Ignition and develop Historian reporting (Axiom)
• Own technical configuration and documentation of assigned OT systems
• Personally build and deliver small OT projects with project management support, executing assigned tasks on time and to quality standards
• Support systems implementation, testing, and on-site commissioning
• Create and maintain detailed technical documentation in Confluence to support sustainability and knowledge transfer
• Provide technical support to vendors building OT solutions
• Troubleshoot alongside the OT Support team and contribute technical expertise to root cause analysis events
• Learn the business processes of your assigned area and contribute technical expertise to team projects
• Identify, propose, and implement improvements to processes, tools, and technical solutions
• Collaborate with IT, Cybersecurity, Data & Analytics, business units, and project managers on project direction, technical support, and documentation standards
