Job summary

Cambridge Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to support skilled restorative therapy for residents. You will implement treatment plans, document progress, and collaborate with physicians, therapists, and staff to promote residents’ independence.

Candidates must hold a current NYS OTA license, an associate degree in Occupational Therapy, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current unencumbered NYS license as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Graduate of an accredited school with an Associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Geriatric experience preferred.
• A current unrestricted driver’s license and dependable transportation.
• Able to use necessary computer applications.
• Ability to professionally communicate with internal and external resources.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates working knowledge of skilled restorative therapy and maintenance programs.
• Provides Occupational Therapy plan of treatments and modalities per physician orders.
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully and effectively communicate with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public.
• Must effectively communicate with residents with visual, speech, auditory, cognitive, physical and emotional impairments.
• Documents resident progress toward occupational therapy goals.
• Completes Daily Activity Schedule and progress notes per facility policy.
• Provides resident, staff and family education as directed.
