Responsibilities
  • Provides skilled interventions according to the physician-approved plan of care under the supervision of an occupational therapist.
  • Documents each visit following AOTA guidelines and regulatory standards for the patient's clinical record.
  • Observes, records, and reports patient responses and condition changes to the supervising OT, physician, and clinical staff.
  • Provides resources for patients/caregivers for future ADL/IADL needs.
  • Promotes wellness and prevention through occupational engagement.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of community resources/services.
  • Makes follow-up care recommendations in coordination with the admitting care center.
  • Keeps current with occupational therapy trends, documentation, and care coordination.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Current license to practice as an occupational therapy assistant in the assigned state.
  • Graduate of an ACOTE-accredited occupational therapy assistant program.
  • Eligible for or has completed the NBCOT certification exam.
  • At least one year of occupational therapy assistant experience, with approval from regional clinical leaders if less than one year, plus mentoring or residency as needed.
  • Current CPR certification.
