Job summary

Lowcountry Oncology Associates seeks an Osteoporosis Patient Care Coordinator to support administrative, referral, and patient flow needs at the LOA Osteoporosis Center. This role does not perform independent clinical duties.

You will organize charts, coordinate referrals, obtain missing records, assist with scheduling, and guide patients through the visit process while maintaining HIPAA compliance and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in a medical office or patient coordination preferred.
• Knowledge of healthcare terminology and general medical office processes preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Experience with electronic medical records and scheduling systems preferred.
• CMA certification is preferred but optional.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and organize patient charts for provider review, updating documentation and records.
• Coordinate new patient referrals for the LOA Osteoporosis Center and assist with scheduling.
• Obtain missing medical records, labs, pathology, imaging and other reports prior to visits.
• Room and escort patients to the appropriate exam area.
• Obtain and document basic patient measurements (height/weight).
• Maintain and update provider schedules to ensure appointments are confirmed.
