Job summary

Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) seeks Osteopathic Principles and Practice Clinical Faculty to teach in the OPP course as a table trainer and deliver lectures to first- and second-year osteopathic medical students.

The role includes instruction in the Clinical Examination course, occasional PBL facilitation, and supervision support in simulations. Candidates should be prepared to conduct scholarly activity and actively engage with students and committees.

Qualifications

• D.O. degree and ability to obtain PA medical license.
• Teaching experience in academia is preferred (2–5 years).
• Special certification in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine is not essential.
• Knowledge of FERPA/HIPAA and patient privacy.

Responsibilities

• Teach Osteopathic Principles and Practices as a table trainer and lecture to first/second-year students.
• Instruct in Clinical Examination course and serve as a PBL facilitator as needed.
• Assist in Simulation Lab supervision as required.
• Prepare detailed course syllabi with assignments and readings for labs and discussions.
• Interview prospective COM candidates.
• Participate on committees and advise students and clubs.
• Engage in at least two scholarly activity projects yearly.
• Develop educational tools and coordinate demonstrations with other faculty.
• Develop evaluation tools to assess student work and identify weaknesses.
