Baptist in Memphis, TN seeks an Adjunct Clinical Faculty member for the College of Osteopathic Medicine to contribute to teaching, scholarly activities, and service across the medical curriculum.

The role includes directing multidisciplinary curricular courses and participating in formative and summative assessments during the third and fourth years to produce competent and holistic physicians.

Qualifications

  • DO or MD degree with AOA or ABMS board certification or board eligibility in designated clinical field.
  • Unrestricted certification/licensure to teach/practice in the State of Tennessee; if DO or MD, must have ability to obtain an active and unrestricted medical license

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates the creation of a learning environment for student instruction that encourages critical thinking, investigation, self-direction and respect for the uniqueness and strengths of each individual.
  • Coordinates and delivers courses as assigned.
  • Evaluates student-learning outcomes for expected course and program competencies.
  • Participates in classroom and/or clinical instruction.
  • Communicates institutional and program policies and goals to students, faculty, staff, and clinical affiliates as appropriate.
  • Communicates course learning outcomes and expected student competencies to clinical affiliates.
  • Demonstrates a professional role within the discipline by remaining current with trends, issues and practices.
  • Participates in activities to remain current with advances in knowledge base, teaching and learning strategies, professional practice, trends, issues, and curricular resources.
  • Participates in the assessment of Program Learning Outcomes as needed.
