Job summary

Comcast is seeking a senior software engineer to join the Network OSS delivery platform in Reston, VA. You will design, develop, and deploy Java microservices and RESTful APIs, plus client‑side apps using Angular/TypeScript.

You will implement observability with Splunk, Grafana, and Prometheus and build CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions. The role also covers Linux system administration, JVM tuning, TLS certificate management, and Snyk security scanning, with opportunities to develop AI agents

Qualifications

• 7+ years of enterprise Java experience (Java 17+).
• Strong understanding of AI tooling integration in development.
• Experience with Angular, TypeScript, ReactJS, Redux, and Jest.
• Self‑confident with monitoring, observability: Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus.
• Knowledge of distributed systems, Kafka event‑driven designs, and TMF APIs.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions).
• Experience administering Linux servers and Tomcat clusters.
• Experience in performance tuning and JVM profiling.
• Mandatory knowledge of SSL/TLS certificate management.
• Mandatory security scanning experience (Snyk).
• Good understanding of Python, PDFAware AI agent development (optional).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Java microservices using Java17+, Spring MVC, Spring Security, and Spring Boot.
• Build and expose RESTful APIs with governance at scale.
• Implement client‑side applications with Angular, TypeScript, Jest, ReactJS, and Redux.
• Implement monitoring and observability using Splunk, Grafana, and Prometheus.
• Architect CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, artifact promotion, and mixed‑environment deployments.
• Manage Linux systems (SSH, shell scripting, provisioning) and application servers (Tomcat clustering).
• Perform performance engineering, JVM tuning, and Oracle query analysis.
• Administer SSL/TLS certificate lifecycle management.
• Conduct security scanning with Snyk.
• Develop custom AI agents and RAG pipelines, integrating AI tooling (Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT) into dev workflows.
