Joink, LLC seeks an entry-level OSP Technician I to assist in installing and maintaining fiber optic infrastructure. The role operates under close supervision, learning industry standards, safety protocols, and operational practices.

The position involves outdoor work year-round, travel between Joink regions up to 10-15% time, and mandatory overtime on Fridays with voluntary Saturdays. Training includes learning construction practices and DOT physical requirements.

POSITION SUMMARY

The OSP Technician I is an entry-level position responsible for assisting in the installation and maintenance of fiber optic infrastructure. This technician will work under close supervision, learning industry standards, safety protocols, and operational practices.

REPORTS TO

• OSP Supervisor

SUPERVISES

• May lead, train or participate in work team assignments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

QUALIFICATIONS

• Candidate must be willing to reside near or commute to a Joink office (Currently within Illinois: Taylorville, Hillsboro; Indiana: Terre Haute)
• Clean driving record.
• Must be able to work overtime with and without notice.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

• 40 hours per week with mandatory overtime on Fridays
• Voluntary Saturdays
• Must participate in on-call rotation
• Almost exclusively outside, year-round, in all weather conditions
• Must be able to work overtime with and without notice
• Must be willing to travel to other Joink regions 10-15% of the time to complete work when needed, with occasional overnight stays.
