Position: OSP Project Manager

Location: Irving, TX

12 Month Contract w/ Potential Extension

Focus Points:

1. Experience with reading/interpreting fiber construction as-builts and fiber splicing cut sheets or schematics.
2. Working knowledge/proficiency/experience with ArcGIS feature creation/query tools.
3. Experience with capturing linear and point features and attributes from documentation in GIS application.
4. Able to work independently on multiple projects within organizational practices and guidelines.
5. Experience with GIS data verification to confirm accuracy and adherence to validation rules.

Worker will be working with Engineers and records to capture fiber network inventory from paper/electronic records into our ArcGIS based database.

Responsibilities:

1. Performs GIS/drafting duties and assignments of moderate scope.
2. Follows standard organizational practices and guidelines.
3. Solves problems of somewhat complex nature and assists less-experienced employees with solving problems and resolving issues.
4. Prepares custom maps and diagrams from GIS data.
5. Meet with users to define data needs, project requirements, required outputs, or to develop applications.
6. Conduct Research to locate and obtain existing feature sets.
7. Gather, analyze, and integrate spatial data from staff and determine how best the information can be displayed using GIS.
8. Compile geographic data from a variety of sources including censuses, field observation, satellite imagery, aerial photographs, and existing maps.
9. Analyze spatial data for geographic statistics to incorporate into documents and reports.
10. Design and update database, applying additional knowledge of spatial feature representations.
11. Analyze geographic relationships among varying types of data.
12. Prepare metadata and other documentation.
13. Move, copy, delete, and add files, drawings, and maps to output reports in hard copy or electronic transfer.
14. Provides GIS (Geographic Information Systems) analysis and services to all departments.
15. Convert electronic files to PDF and upload to File Management Database.

Qualifications:

1. Requires High school degree and 4 years or more job-related experience or degree in related field. A combination of education and applicable work experience may be acceptable.
2. General Computer Skills – Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, Visio), Google Earth, Adobe Pro or similar applications.
3. Ability to read and interpret underground and aerial fiber telecom facilities from records on maps and field notes.
4. Experience with GIS based design platforms such as Arc Map, QGIS, MapInfo, OSPi, Network Engineer, or 3GIS.
5. Analytical Skills - The ability to resolve problems associated with given task.
6. Ability to pay close attention to detail and make sound decisions using information provided.
7. High comprehension skills.
8. Strong Verbal and Written communication skills.
9. Capable of working with minimum supervision.
10. Capable of working remote.
