As an OSP laborer, you will perform tasks to support the utility construction crew.
Responsibilities:- Unload materials that are delivered and distribute them to appropriate locations as identified by a supervisor, project plans, or specifications.
- Prepare the layout area where construction will occur by accurately measuring, marking, or recording openings or distances.
- Clean and prepare specific areas of the job site as assigned. This may include digging trenches, erecting scaffolding, cleaning up rubble, debris, and trash; or removing hazardous materials.
- Operate a wide variety of hand and power tools.
- Direct traffic near, in, or around work zones.
- Assist equipment operators with the alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials.
- Clean the job site at the end of the day, ensuring trash is properly disposed of, and materials or equipment are safely stored.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills/Requirements:- Listen to, understand, and follow directions.
- Maintain flexibility as specific assignments change.
- Have basic arithmetic skills as needed to count and take inventory.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Ability to stand and walk up to 8 hours per day.
