About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fiber Field Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in field data collection for fiber optic network deployments, including the use of field note collection tools like IQGEO and QGIS, preparing KMZ files using Google Earth, and collecting critical field data such as pole heights and attachment details. This role is crucial to ensuring accurate and efficient planning and implementation of fiber optic infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct field surveys to collect accurate data for fiber optic network planning and deployment.
• Use field note collection tools such as IQGEO and QGIS to document field conditions, including pole heights, attachment details, and other relevant data.
• Prepare and manage KMZ files using Google Earth for mapping and visualization purposes.
• Measure and record pole heights, attachment clearances, and other required field data to ensure compliance with engineering and safety standards.
• Collaborate with engineering and design teams to provide accurate field data for network design and construction.
• Verify and validate field data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working in the field.
• Maintain and organize field data records for easy access and reference.
• Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in fiber optic fielding or a similar role.
• Proficiency in using field data collection tools such as IQGEO and QGIS.
• Strong knowledge of pole heights, attachment clearances, and other field data relevant to fiber optic deployments.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, maps, and design plans.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in the field.
