Job summary

Network Connex is seeking an OSP Designer to prepare and maintain fiber optic project drawings and documentation. You will work with engineers, project managers, and field teams to develop aerial and underground fiber designs, permitting packages, and construction drawings for project execution.

Ideal candidates have AutoCAD experience and familiarity with GIS platforms, pole attachment, make-ready, and right-of-way requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in CAD, drafting, engineering tech or related field preferred.
• 1–3 years drafting experience, preferably in telecommunications or OSP engineering.
• AutoCAD experience required; telecommunications OSP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and modify OSP engineering drawings using AutoCAD, GIS, or related drafting software.
• Develop aerial and underground fiber route maps and construction documents.
• Create and maintain Engineering Work Documents, fiber designs, splice diagrams, permit exhibits, and as-built drawings.
• Review field survey data and incorporate findings into design packages.
• Support permit package preparation and jurisdictional submittals.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Construction, and Project Management teams to ensure design accuracy.
• Maintain project documentation and drawing standards.
• Assist with bill of materials development and documentation tracking.
• Revise drawings based on customer comments, field conditions, and design changes.
• Ensure all deliverables meet company and customer quality standards.
