Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an IT Network Infrastructure Engineer focused on outside plant design to support fiber infrastructure for spaceport operations. You will develop accurate OSP drawings, route maps, and GIS data while collaborating with field teams and utilities.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in OSP design or 7+ years without a degree, proficiency in AutoCAD, and GIS tools; willingness to travel up to 20% and work in field environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related STEM field with 5+ years in OSP design, or 7+ years without a degree.
• Experience using CAD (AutoCAD) for utility/telecom drawings.
• Experience with GIS software (ArcGIS or QGIS) for mapping and spatial analysis.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and revise OSP fiber design drawings and permitting packages in AutoCAD.
• Create and maintain GIS-based route maps, asset inventories, and spatial data.
• Support BOM development, quantity take-offs, and basic loss-budget calculations.
• Coordinate with senior engineers, construction teams, and utilities on design changes.
• Ensure drawings and GIS data comply with company standards and local requirements.
