Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an IT Network Infrastructure Engineer specializing in Outside Plant (OSP) to design, document, and coordinate fiber infrastructure for Starbase’s vast network and facilities. You will produce accurate construction drawings and GIS data while collaborating with field teams and utilities.

The role requires CAD/gis proficiency, a STEM degree (or equivalent experience), and willingness to travel up to 20% to support global sites and field updates.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s in STEM or 5+ years OSP design if no degree.
• Experience using CAD tools for telecom drawings.
• Experience with GIS software for mapping and spatial analysis.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and revise OSP fiber design drawings, conduit layouts, splice diagrams, and permitting packages.
• Create and maintain GIS-based route maps and asset inventories.
• Assist with field surveys, redline markups, and data-to-drawing conversion.
• Support BOM development, quantity take-offs, and basic loss-budget calculations.
• Coordinate with senior engineers and utilities on design changes and updates.
• Ensure drawings and GIS data comply with standards and permitting requirements.
