Job summary

JSI invites you to join our team as an Outside Plant (OSP) Designer I on our Engineering and Design Team in our Wills Point, TX office, where you'll plan, design, document, and permit OSP FTTx build-outs, contributing to broadband expansion and digital inclusion.

This role collaborates with project managers, permitting staff, and field personnel to produce high-quality deliverables while maintaining deadlines and client expectations; experience with AutoCAD and GIS is a plus.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Post-secondary degree in engineering, GIS, or related field preferred.
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and good communicator.
• Strong time management and attention to detail.
• Experience with OSP design and deliverables preferred.
• AutoCAD and GIS software knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

• Reads and understands maps, drawings, and diagrams for Telecom/FFTx OSP construction.
• Creates and reviews fiber assignments (schematics), high-level designs, and low-level designs.
• Communicate with project managers, permitting team, and field personnel to produce accurate deliverables in accordance with deadlines, client expectations, and JSI standards.
• Continuously improves job-related tasks and processes, technical and professional knowledge, skills, and performance.
• Completes other tasks assigned by the manager/supervisor.
