Job summary

TEKsystems seeks an OSP Design Tech for a Boise, Idaho client and Denver, CO operations. The role blends design, field engineering, documentation, and contractor coordination to support fiber deployment and network expansion.

Requirements include 2+ years in OSP, proficiency with Visio and CAD, and strong organizational skills. On-site, full-time with travel expectations; pay commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of outside plant telecom engineering or design experience.
• Experience supporting telecom construction and field operations.
• Ability to read staking sheets, construction drawings, permitting documents, and methods of construction; right-of-way knowledge.
• Experience with Microsoft Visio and CAD/telecom design tools.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; able to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Develop OSP construction drawings and design packages using Visio and other telecom tools.
• Interpret staking sheets, roadway blueprints, permitting docs, and methods of construction.
• Perform field surveys and site inspections to support design and construction.
• Maintain accurate outside plant records and project documentation.
• Support engineering, permitting, and construction processes from initiation through completion.
• Inspect contractor work for compliance with project requirements and standards.
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, municipalities, and internal stakeholders.
• Recommend construction solutions based on field conditions and engineering requirements.
• Assist with route maintenance and network expansion activities.
• Support aerial and underground fiber deployment projects.
• Participate in utility relocation and roadway move projects as needed.
