Position Description

Reporting to the OSP Construction Manager, the OSP Construction Supervisor plays a vital role in OSP’s leadership team, facilitating and governing field construction. The OSP Construction Supervisor will specifically direct and support the work of our aerial and splicing construction crews.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe environment and ensure all safety standards are met
• Take a leadership role in establishing safety culture
• Responsible for the overall construction schedule, including scheduling and managing construction inspections and internal inspectors
• Ensure construction quality, inspection, and true-up of quantities
• Represent Tilson during site walks or closeout activities with customers and permitting authorities
• Identify issues that could cause delays and apply innovative solutions
• Ensure quality construction practices and timely project closeout and delivery

Qualifications

Position Requirements

• Strong knowledge of OSP construction techniques and practices (underground and aerial)
• Knowledge of industry-standard fiber splicing techniques
• At least two years of experience managing OSP construction and inspection crews
• Willingness to learn new skills, software, and technologies
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Proficiency in MS Office and Google Earth
• OSHA 10 or higher certification required, or to be completed within 90 days of hire
• Valid driver’s license

Travel Expectations: Minimal travel, approximately 10% inside or outside the region.

Additional Requirements: Must be at least 21 years old to meet Tilson’s driving eligibility requirements.
