Job summary

Condé Nast’s WIRED seeks a reporter adept at building and working with data sets to break impactful stories in technology, cybersecurity, science, and beyond. You’ll combine traditional reporting with data-driven methods, using OSINT and visual investigations to identify differentiated leads.

This in-office role (4 days/week) sits on the security desk, collaborating across WIRED’s coverage areas and with global markets. A strong portfolio of investigative work is essential.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 4 years as journalist with investigative data or OSINT reporting.
• Proven track record of scoops and breaking news consistently.
• Strong organizational skills to manage evolving workload.
• Clear, engaging, jargon-free writing style.

Responsibilities

• Consistently break news and deliver scoops.
• Report and write at least four stories per month, focused on differentiated investigative work.
• Pitch, report, and write stories using data, open source tools, or visual investigations.
• Collaborate with the security desk and WIRED newsroom reporters.
• Coordinate with audio, video, events, and social teams to tell stories on other platforms.
• Work with global markets on relevant stories or packages.
• Take on additional projects as assigned.
