Job summary

IES Commercial, Inc. – DBA IES Electrical, a subsidiary of IES Holdings, seeks a Safety Manager in Suffolk, VA. The role focuses on leading safety training, regulatory compliance, and incident prevention for construction and industrial settings.

Responsibilities include delivering OSHA certifications, new employee orientation, fleet safety for drivers, and maintaining training records. Travel may be required; strong communication and driving qualifications are essential.

Qualifications

• OSHA-500 or OSHA-501 certification required.
• Minimum 3 years of recent construction safety experience.
• Knowledge of OSHA, state and federal safety regulations.
• Proficient computer and written/verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate with all management levels and field staff.
• Maintain driving qualifications per fleet safety program.
• Able to pass pre-employment background and MVR checks.

Responsibilities

• Conduct safety training on safety policies, compliance, and operation of equipment.
• Deliver OSHA 10 & 30 certifications and new employee orientation.
• Provide fleet safety training to drivers.
• Develop and prepare training materials and presentations.
• Maintain training tracking database for each employee.
• Participate in safety inspections and correct violations.
• Maintain safety files in compliance with regulations; travel may be required.
