Job summary

Leidos is seeking an experienced Operating Systems Test Engineer for on-site work in Orlando, FL. The role supports the Air Force DoD programs and requires knowledge of OS concepts, V&V, and security testing with ACAS/Nessus.

Responsibilities include maintaining the DI-NIL lab, validating OS configurations, and documenting builds and processes, while collaborating with stakeholders to ensure least-privilege access and compliant deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Deep understanding of operating systems concepts and their application to DoD programs.
• Strong written and verbal communication to collaborate with customer representatives and engineers.
• Experience with security testing and remediation using ACAS/Nessus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the DI-NIL architecture and services (RHEL, Windows, and other systems) and ensure proper structure and compliance configurations.
• Verify and validate all operating systems for production readiness, including patching and version upgrades.
• Document builds and configurations thoroughly and create repeatable process flows.
• Coordinate with customers to configure access using least-privilege principles during stakeholder activities.
• Support DI-NIL by backing up personnel and aiding in verification and validation tasks.
