Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is seeking an experienced Occupational Safety and Health program leader to direct CBP’s national OSH initiatives.

You will plan, implement, and continuously improve safety programs, advise leadership, and coordinate with headquarters and field components across multiple duty locations nationwide, including Miami, FL. Strong expertise in safety management, data analysis, and incident investigations is essential.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate education in safety/occupational health fields or related disciplines with 24 semester hours in safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene, or related areas.
• Experience in safety or occupational health that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.
• Experience with developing safety policies, standards, and programs to reduce hazards and injuries.

Responsibilities

• Plan and direct occupational safety and health program activities across CBP.
• Advise management on responding to unsafe working conditions and investigations.
• Analyze data to identify accident causes and recommend remedial actions.
• Serve as the Federal Emergency Response Official (FERO) for safety planning and response.
