Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking an OS&D Support Specialist to assist internal and external customers by investigating Over/Short & Damaged (OS&D) exceptions and incidents. The role educates centers on proper freight handling and helps update OS&D policies.

You will act as a liaison for service centers, validate disposition requests, and supply authorization to resolve discrepancies while supporting claims reduction and enhanced customer experience.

Qualifications

• Must possess high school diploma or (GED) equivalent.
• Two (2) years’ experience in clerical support or transportation operations
• Experience and ability to use Microsoft software Word, Excel and Outlook
• Basic knowledge of OS&D fundamentals
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with various levels of internal and external customers
• Basic knowledge of LTL freight handling procedures and daily operations
• Well organized and detail oriented

Responsibilities

• Investigate OS&D overages at service centers and document findings.
• Serve as point of contact for service centers on disposition requests.
• Validate control points in disposition requests to mitigate risk.
• Provide authorization for disposition requests to service centers.
• Process disposition requests in a timely manner.
• Support claims reduction initiatives and improve customer experience.
• Provide undeliverable freight notices to external customers seeking disposition resolution.
• Ensure accurate application of freight charges and accessorials.
• Provide educational opportunities to leadership to optimize performance.
• Provide adhoc reports as required.
• Provide information to government agencies and other customers as directed by Security.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required

Starting Rate of Pay: $ 19.43 per hour

POSITION OVERVIEW

Assist and support internal and external customers by investigating Over/Short & Damaged (OS&D) exceptions and incidents. Educate centers on proper freight handling and OS&D fundamentals. Support creation and updates of OS&D policies for the company.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Investigate overages related to shipments at service center locations for quality descriptions and placement
• Assist and serve as point of contact for service centers regarding disposition requests
• Validate control points in disposition requests, mitigating risk in resolution
• Supplies service centers with authorization for disposition requests
• Process disposition requests timely to meet company goals
• Support claims reduction initiatives and improved customer experience
• Supply external customers with undeliverable freight notice seeking disposition resolution
• Ensure adequate freight related charges/accessorial charges are applied accurately and timely
• Provide center educational opportunities to leadership to optimize business performance
• Adhoc reporting as required
• Provide information to government agencies and other customers as directed by Security
• Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
• Perform other duties as required
