Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and 1–3 years working with children in an academic setting.
• OG training/practicum required.
• Ability to teach using multisensory methods of instruction.
• Willingness to train on standardized test administration techniques and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Teach reading concepts using the Orton-Gillingham approach within the Carroll School language curriculum.
• Meet regularly with classroom teachers and Department Head to share information about student progress.
• Research and select learning materials and books to facilitate tutoring; design individualized multi-sensory materials.
• Administer curriculum-based assessments and measure student progress; complete trimester reports.
• Participate in professional development and advance to the Certified Level of Orton-Gillingham training.
• Attend department and faculty meetings; participate in parent conferences as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned (e.g., recess duties, library coverage, activity days).
