  • Develop positive relationships with students, parents, colleagues and administration.
  • Work extended day program for at least 1 session per year for the first three years.

Position Summary:: The Carroll School seeks teaching candidates with a growth mindset and a true passion and commitment to lifelong learning. We are seeking candidates with experience and/or interest in teaching students with language-based learning differences, and who are drawn to acquire the necessary competencies to successfully teach our type of learners. Temporary position November 2026 through April 2026

Responsibilities:
  • Teach English Language Arts classes of 8-12 students (4 classes a day)
  • Apply a multisensory, diagnostic, prescriptive approach to instruction
  • Complete OG Training within the first 2 years through Summer@Carroll
  • Create highly focused, data-informed lesson plans specific to students’ needs
  • Work with Middle School curricular team to develop and customize grade-level curriculum through a culturally responsive lens
  • Develop positive working relationships with all constituencies: students, parents, colleagues, and administration
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Work in extended day program for at least 1 session a year for the first three years (fall, winter, or spring)
  • Choices may include: supervised study hall, sports coaching, art, Bounders, enrichment, Maker Space
  • Additional compensation for extended day work
