Job summary

Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking an Orthotics & Prosthetics Technician to assist in fabrication, repair, and fitting of orthoses or prostheses.

Under supervision, you will fabricate casts, operate shop equipment, perform measurements with clinicians, maintain records, and support quality improvement and patient care.

This role requires a high school diploma and at least one year experience in O&P tech; strong safety and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• One year experience as an O&P Technician or equivalent field.
• Ability to follow detailed directions and use tools such as drill presses, ovens, cutters, grinders, lathes, and polishers.
• Works well with people.

Responsibilities

• Fabricates casts according to measurements, model specifications and layouts.
• Repairs and maintains orthoses or prostheses as delegated.
• Assists in measurements of patients with clinicians in exam rooms, nursing homes, or hospitals.
• Operates drill presses, ovens, cutters, grinders, lathes, and polishers.
• Maintains patient records and billing records for repairs.
