Job summary

Comprehensive Prosthetics & Orthotics in Willowbrook, IL is seeking two Fabrication Assistants to fabricate, modify, and repair custom orthotic and prosthetic devices in our Willowbrook fabrication lab. You will work with experienced technicians and clinicians to turn fabrication instructions into devices that support patient mobility, comfort, and independence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Introductory fabrication experience gained through an orthotics and prosthetics internship, technical training, or comparable hands‑on work.
• Ability to read measurements and follow written and verbal fabrication instructions.
• Reliable attendance and availability to work on‑site in Willowbrook.
• Commitment to safe, quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned fabrication, modification, and repair tasks according to work orders, clinician specifications, and established lab procedures.
• Prepare materials, pour plaster molds, and prepare positive models as instructed.
• Assist with thermoplastic forming, trimming, and finishing within your training and assigned responsibilities.
• Assist with lamination, composite preparation, and component assembly as trained and directed.
• Measure, cut, grind, smooth, and finish assigned materials using appropriate tools and equipment.
• Check completed work for accuracy, finish, and conformity with fabrication instructions; report defects or concerns.
• Communicate questions about work orders, materials, or fabrication processes before proceeding.
• Document completed tasks and coordinate priorities with the team to meet production deadlines.
• Maintain an organized workspace and follow equipment care, safety, infection control, and company procedures.
