Job summary

Comprehensive Prosthetics & Orthotics in Willowbrook, IL is seeking a Prosthetic Technician to fabricate, modify, and repair custom devices. You will work with clinicians and experienced technicians to translate specifications into mobility-enhancing devices, with a focus on safety, quality, and teamwork.

This non-exempt role offers hands-on fabrication, training, and opportunities to develop specialized skills, contributing directly to patient mobility and independence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work accurately with hand tools and equipment.
• Ability to read measurements and follow fabrication instructions.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to follow safety procedures, accept feedback, and learn specialized fabrication processes.
• Reliable attendance, effective communication, and ability to work within a team.
• On-site availability in Willowbrook, IL.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and repair prosthetic devices according to work orders and clinician specifications.
• Prepare, pour, and modify plaster molds and positive models.
• Form, trim, and finish thermoplastic diagnostic sockets and assist with definitive socket fabrication.
• Perform lamination and finishing processes using resins and composites.
• Assemble prosthetic components and complete technical adjustments within training and responsibilities.
• Use fabrication machinery and tools safely and accurately.
• Inspect devices for workmanship and conformity with specifications.
• Communicate fabrication questions and production issues to team and clinicians.
• Document completed work and coordinate with the team to meet deadlines.
• Maintain an organized workspace and follow safety and lab procedures.
