Job summary

The Washington DC VA Medical Center is seeking Orthotic Fitters or DME Clinical Specialists to support the Prosthetic and Sensory Aids Service. We are seeking skilled, patient‑focused professionals ready to make an immediate impact serving Veterans.

Responsibilities include fitting, sizing, and dispensing orthotics and prosthetic devices; documenting measurements in VA systems; maintaining inventory; and providing patient instruction on device use.

Qualifications

• ABC or BOC Orthotic Fitter Certification or equivalent experience
• DME Fitter with clinical fitting experience
• Orthotics Technician/Prosthetic Assistant background
• Experience in orthotics, prosthetics, or clinical fitting
• Excellent communication and patient interaction skills
• Ability to work full-time onsite at the VA Medical Center
• Ability to pass VA background and credentialing requirements

Responsibilities

• Fit, size, and dispense orthotic soft goods, footwear, and prefabricated orthoses
• Construct, shape, and repair common orthotic and prosthetic devices
• Document patient measurements, fittings, and clinical notes in VA systems
• Maintain orthotic inventory and supply levels
• Provide patient instruction on device use and care
• Support clinic workflow, followup scheduling, and administrative tasks

Compensation and Benefits:

• Sign-on Bonus: $2,500.00 - $5,000.00
• Hourly pay: $43.55 per hour

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday
• 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Location:

• Onsite at the Washington DC VA Medical Center

Key Responsibilities:
