Job summary

Complete Orthopedic Services Inc. in East Meadow, NY is seeking a skilled Orthotic Fitter to join our patient-centered team across East Meadow, Flushing, and Bronx locations.

You will fit custom and prefabricated orthoses, measure, fabricate, and adjust devices based on physician prescriptions, ensuring comfort and function for each patient. You will educate patients on device use, document care in records, collaborate with physicians and therapists, manage inventory, and assist with insurance

Qualifications

• Certification as Orthotic Fitter (ABC/BOC) required, CFo preferred.
• Experience in orthotics fitting or DME.
• Knowledge of lower/upper extremity orthoses, bracing, and supports.
• Excellent patient communication and customer service.
• Ability to read physician prescriptions and clinical documentation.
• Familiarity with insurance billing, coding, and prior authorizations.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and fit patients with custom and prefabricated orthotic devices based on physician prescriptions.
• Measure, fabricate, and modify orthoses to ensure proper fit, function, and patient comfort; educate patients on device use and care.
• Document patient assessments, fittings, and follow-up care in patient records accurately.
• Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare providers to optimize outcomes.
• Maintain inventory of orthotic supplies and equipment; place orders as needed.
• Ensure compliance with insurance billing requirements and obtain necessary authorizations.

• Strong knowledge of lower and upper extremity orthoses, bracing, and support devices
• Excellent patient communication and customer service skills
• Ability to read and interpret physician prescriptions and clinical documentation
• Familiarity with insurance billing, coding, and prior authorization processes
