Job Description:

$1,000 Sign-On Bonus

*Sign-On bonus is for External Hires only

Recipient must stay with AHN for a minimum of 1 year

Re-Hires may not have worked for AHN within the previous 12 months to qualify

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Assists physicians and extenders in providing medical and clerical support for orthopedic practice locations.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Performs procedures like wound care, dressings, EKGs, suture/staple removal, casting, injections, vaccines, phlebotomy, and ultrasound assistance, after training and competency.
  • Coordinates patient care under healthcare provider supervision.
  • Prepares and rooms patients, documents health info, and orders radiographs per protocols.
  • Documents details in electronic health records, reviews patient history, and may act as a scribe.
  • Performs pre-visit chart management and reviews outside reports.
  • Educates patients on wound, pin, cast, and postoperative care.
  • Prepares exam rooms, manages supplies, and ensures stock levels.
  • Medical Assistants with current certification may administer medications; Athletic Trainers (ATC) cannot.
  • Travel to satellite locations as needed.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Proof of graduation from an approved Medical Assistant School or athletic training program, or relevant experience.
  • Medical Assistant Certification or Athletic Trainer Licensure within 120 days.
  • CPR certification (American Heart Association).
  • Act 34, Act 33, and Act 73 FBI Clearance Certificates.

Preferred

  • 3-5 years’ experience as an Ortho Technician, Medical Assistant, or Athletic Trainer (ATC).
