Hourly Pay Range:

$22.14 - $33.21 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Orthopedics Technician - Chicago

Position Highlights:

• Position: Orthopedics Technician
• Location: Chicago, IL
• Full Time/Part Time: Full Time

• Hours: Monday-Friday, between 6:30am- 5pm, rotating Saturdays between 8am - 1pm
• Required Travel: Limited Travel

What you will do:

A Brief Overview:
The Orthopedic Technician will assist physicians, physician assistants and nurses with the care and treatment of orthopedic patients. An orthopedic tech specializes in casting, bracing and splinting and is an expert in applying plaster and synthetic casts.

Responsibilities include:

• Applying and removing casts, performing dressing changes, and drawing up injections.
• Greet patients, prepare them for examinations, and document in the EMR.
• Educate patients on cast care, brace application, and foot and ankle exercises.
• Assist with surgical preparations and maintain laboratory cleanliness.
• Communicate effectively with team members and physicians regarding patient status.

What you will need:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Preferred: 1 year of experience in a physician practice setting and certification as a Certified Orthopedic Technologist (COA) or equivalent.
• Current CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and computer skills.
