Albany Med Health System is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to work under the RN with responsibilities including data collection, personal care, and basic testing to support patient progress toward discharge.

The role emphasizes compassionate patient care, infection control, and collaboration with care teams; prior health care exposure and good communication skills are valued. Benefits and a stable on-site work environment are provided.

Formación

• High School Diploma or equivalent; basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• 6 months related experience in health care or completion of a certified nursing assistant course; paramedic/EMT experience is desired.
• Honest, punctual and adheres to the highest standards of ethical conduct per Albany Med Health System policies.
• Ability to communicate cooperatively and effectively with patients, family members, employees and others.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands; may sit, kneel or crouch occasionally.

Responsabilidades

• Collect patient data, vital signs, height, weight and intake/output.
• Provide personal care including bathing, grooming, eating and hydration.
• Perform point-of-care testing such as whole blood glucose and assist with basic restorative care.
• Turn, position and mobilize patients and assist with transitions toward discharge.
• Document all care in the patient record and maintain a clean, safe environment.
