Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital is seeking a Nurse Technician to provide patient care within the Orthopedics unit under the supervision of a licensed nurse. You will implement the nursing process to support patient functional status and assist with ADLs and safety protocols.

Minimum education includes a high school diploma or GED plus completion of the Nurse Technician Training Program or a CNA program. CPR certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire, with 0–6 months related experience

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of Saint Francis Nurse Technician Training Program or completion of a CNA program.
• CPR certification required within 30 days of hire.
• 0–6 months related healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care for an assigned group of patients under supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Assist with ADLs and procedures appropriate to patient population.
• Observe and report patient condition and needs to licensed nurse in a timely manner.
• Demonstrate specialty skills and knowledge for the patient population.
• Complete unit-specific skill checklists under delegation of the Licensed Nurse.
• Document data according to hospital policy and keep legible records.
• Record treatments or procedures performed and monitor I&O and vital signs.
• Contribute to unit/hospital PI and educational activities.
