Job summary

MaineGeneral Medical Center in Maine is seeking a Medical Assistant to support a busy outpatient setting. The role balances clinical and administrative tasks, with a daytime schedule from 8:00 to 4:30 and no nights or weekends.

Orthopedic specialty experience is preferred, and you’ll split time between Augusta and Oakland campuses, collaborating closely with providers and staff to ensure smooth patient flow.

Qualifications

• Previous work experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Certified by an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• An associate degree in Medical Assisting from an accredited school.
• Strong communication and attention to detail.
• Ability to balance clinical and administrative responsibilities.
• Team-focused mindset with a patient-first approach.

Responsibilities

• Assist with collecting statistics and preparing patient for visit.
• Prepare patients for visits and assist providers during examinations.
• Assist with basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection.
• Communicate observed changes in patient condition to staff for assessment.
• Document patient care and perform filing, scheduling, data entry, and registration.
• Maintain equipment, supplies, and examination areas.
